CENTURY UNIVERSITY ACCREDITATION
We are happy to announce that Century University, with effect of 1st April, 2003 will successfully reach the final process of obtaining full Accreditation from the accrediting organization of the U.S. Department of Education.
This means that all Century University's degrees, will be recognized and attested by the U.S. Department of Education, subsequently by the U.S. Embassies and the local ministry of Education in your country.
A special announcement of the accreditation granted by the U.S. Department of Education, to Century University will be released in due time.
Century University is licensed by the commission on higher education in the state of New Mexico in USA, it is also listed by the US department of education office of educational research and improvement. A degree certificate received / earned from Century University - USA will be stamped as authenticated by:
- The New Mexico Department of State
- The US Department of State
- Certified by the respective Local Embassy in the USA
- Foreign Ministry in the local country.
Furthermore, Although the degree certificate does not state or mention anything that has been earned and awarded by distance education, as a matter of fact it is exactly similar to certificates issued from a full on-campus degree universities. However you should be aware of the real fact that the CU degree has been earned by distance learning and not by actual attendance at a University campus in USA. Therefore you should not expect any local Ministry of Education to accredit and authenticate such degree certificate, as distance education degrees are not yet accredited by Ministries of Higher Education in the Arab World. So the issue of certification by any local Ministry of Education is very complicated and does not apply on CU only, but on all similar programs offered from anywhere in the world, and that's the case as well with universities that are even having campuses and classes in the region and are associated with an American University or any other University abroad.
Generally speaking the degree of Century University is widely accepted, but when stamping of the local Ministry of Education is required, such issue cannot be achieved. So you should be reasonable with your expectations and remember the fact that you are doing a higher education and earning a degree with an American University from your local country, without spending actual academic years at the university campus in USA.
We are also pleased to advise you that many individuals and organizations in the USA and abroad accepted and accept "Century University" as a quality institution of higher education, as they were and as they are today. "Century University" students are employed to begin with and, following graduation, many of them are holding highly responsible positions throughout the world.
